Fastest way to cap this elite? - Guild Wars Forums

Hi im wondering the fastest way to reach the sulfurous wastes region to cap [weapon of remedy] heres the exact location of the boss who has it. I hope i dont have to progress the NF story to get here as id like to put it on my hero ASAP.

Im a tyrian char level 20 just reached consulate docks dont know my way around elonia that much so what would be the quickest way of me getting to this region to cap that elite??? (im a runner so i can run it np as long as i know where to go etc).

Like it's hard to progress through the story line.

If you're a lazy bastard, just go pvp and get 3k balth faction and buy an elite tome.

there are two options, you can get a run to gates of desolation or through that part of the game till there. It can cost quite a bit though.

If you have enough balthazar faction you can go to the priest of balthazar and buy the skill for 3k faction.

I personally would take the second one since you can probably get it faster that way.

Just FYI, you don't need an elite tome to add it to your heroes as they have access to all skills available on the account not just that character. So if you buy it from Priest of Balthazar you can't use it since it's a PVP unlock but your heroes can.

you have to do the story
as you need to do gates of desolation to be able to take rides in the junundu

you can't get to alem without beeing in a junundu as the sulfurous haze will kill you ^^

oh and btw: alem is a real easy kill just go there kill him in your junundu

Unlocking through Balthazar faction is definitely the quickest way, and what Arch said about not needing the elite tome is correct. You can't just get a run to the Gate of Desolation though. You'll need to follow some primary quests to unlock the mission there first. That'll take some time to do.

If you're refering to the skill description then i agree....but in terms of heros usage? [weapon of remedy] > [xinrae's weapon] .

That's weird, I see people occasionally offering a run from Sunspear Sanctuary to Gates of Desolation or beyond.

@ arch psyker - Getting to a place does not mean you can do anything when you get there.

What was meant by Absinth187 is that to reach Alem you need to cross the sulferous areas. You cannot walk on these but need to ride a worm. In order to be able to ride a worm, you need to be able to do the Gates of Desolation mission.

That means you need to progress through the story line.

Yeah go get 3k balth faction in zaishen elite... in the time it took you to come here and post you could of been halfway done.

Nightfall SUX's. Period. I hate it with a passion. The game is disjointed. The Hero's are nice makes for easy killing in ascalon. LOL

but I just buy my skills. Why play when you can buy?

Just out of curiousity, if he got run to Salhala (or whatever its called) and skip Desolation could he die in the Wastelands and have someone UA him there, after Alem is killed? The area has another wurm there so someone could exit their Junundu use UA and the get back in. Or is he blocked from joining the the party?

ritualist tomes are the most expensive ones
they are 15k

Is there is a player in the group (living or dead) who has not completed Gate Of Desolation, then NOONE can get into a junundu. The "die so we can get into junundu" loophole was fixed in December.

Only when it's a boss far from an outpost or in an area where your character hasn't been yet. Many elites are easy to cap and way faster to cap then you would have to earn 3k balthy faction in pvp and spamming in town to buy an elite tome not for a ridiculous price from a merchanter ...
